"Hope I die before I get old" - Pete Townsend, Who
The Catacombs was the first exclusively rock and roll club in Houston. It started in an old building on Post Oak near the present day Galleria.. They had a few national acts but the best part was Houston finally had a club where local bands could play. The club only stayed at their Post Oak location a couple of years then moved to a store front location in the Rice Village area. Shortly after moving in to their new digs it changed it's name to Of Our Own. It was not a very large place yet still had a handfull of national acts like Jethro Tull and Ten Years After. Josefus was a popular local band that played their regularly. Still have their lp, Dead Man.
